Movie Time: Aladdin

Watch, Aladdin, a new live action remake of a Disney classic with us on Tuesday, September 17th at 5:30 pm.

A kind-hearted street urchin and a power-hungry Grand Vizier vie for a magic lamp that has the power to make their deepest wishes come true.

We will bring the popcorn and you can bring the soda!


National Video Games Day

It’s national video games day!

Starting at 4:30 pm, we will have free play until 7 pm on Thursday, September 12th.

Use our consoles or bring your own console, controllers, and games for additional fun.


Library spirit week

This year we are celebrating Literacy Week in a different way. Starting Tuesday, September 3rd, visit the library dressed up in that day’s theme and you will be entered into a drawing for a $25 Walmart gift card and get your picture added to the library’s social media.

  • Tuesday – “Cozy up with a good book” wear your pajamas to the library
  • Wednesday – “Fun in the Sun” wear a Hawaiian shirt or something beachy
  • Thursday – “Book character day” dress as a character from a book
  • Friday – “Sock it to reading ” wear fun socks

Library Closed for Labor Day

The Library will be closed on Monday, September 2nd for Labor Day.

We will reopen on Tuesday for our regular hours.


Escape Room: Escape the Library!

From Tuesday, September 3rd to Tuesday, September 17th, the library is hosting an escape room.

This FREE experience is open to everyone ages 11 and older and is perfect for beginners. Get a taste of what escape rooms are all about. Solve clues and puzzles to open locks and escape the room!

Sign up is required. The room is timed for 25 minute sessions and has a limit of 4 people per session. Please call the library (620) 626-0180 to confirm your space! Available time slots are from 2 pm to 7 pm, Monday through Thursday and 1 pm to 4 pm on Friday and Saturday.

Come see a new movie with us on Tuesday, August 20th at 5 pm. We will be watching “Avengers Endgame “.

The events set in motion by Thanos that wiped out half the universe and fractured the Avengers ranks compels the remaining Avengers to take a final stand in the latest movie from the Marvel universe.

Movie Time: The Last Starfighter

Can’t get enough of our summer reading theme “A Universe of Stories”? On Tuesday, August 23rd at 4 pm, catch this movie that fits into the theme but didn’t quite fit into our schedule for the summer: The Last Starfighter.

Video game expert Alex Rogan finds himself transported to another planet after conquering a video game only to find out it was just a test. He is recruited to join the team of best starfighters to defend their world from the attack.


Teen Kahoot Trivia: Avatar the Last Airbender

On Thursday, August 29th at 6 pm., test your Avatar the Last Airbender trivia knowledge with our fun trivia contest hosted on Kahoot. Kahoot is a website/app for quizzes.

Don’t worry if you don’t know the answers; come for the fun! There will be a prize for the winner!

A group of musicians called “The Local Talent” will perform at the library coffee bar on Friday, August 9th at 2 pm.

Come see a fun new movie with us on Tuesday, August 13th at 5:45 pm. We will be watching “Pokémon Detective Pikachu”.

In this live action Pokémon movie, Ace detective Harry Goodman goes missing, leaving his son Tim to find out what happened, along with Harry’s former Pokémon partner. Together they uncover a shocking plot that could threaten the whole Pokémon universe.

We will bring the popcorn and you can bring the soda!


Yu-Gi-Oh Duel Academy

Come learn Yu-Gi-Oh at the library with Fire Heart Games! Get your own free deck and Official Tournament Card and take quizzes to get placed on a team!

Open to all ages that are willing to learn, all materials will be provided unless you want to bring your own cards to use.

Harry Potter's Birthday Party

Celebrate Harry’s 39th birthday with us on Wednesday, July 31st at 4 p.m.

We will watch Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone and each attendee will be given a bag of goodies and instructions to play along and participate as Harry begins his wizarding adventure.

Get sorted into your Hogwarts house, drink butterbeer, and eat cupcakes.


Teen End of Summer Reading Party

Come to our Teen End of Summer Reading Party on Friday, July 26th at 4 p.m. for your last chance to finish your bingo card and get prizes!

If you missed out on any of the previous programs, DIY or Kahoot Trivia, you will have a chance to participate during the party. In addition, we will be playing board and card games and have snacks available.

During Summer Reading, we will have a series of DIY programs for teens. This week’s DIY project is inspired by Shark Week. On Wednesday, July 24th at 4 pm, have fun making your own shark jewelry.

Come see a fun animated movie with us on Monday, July 22nd at 4:30 pm. We will be watching “Planet 51, which was made in 2009 and stars Dwayne Johnson, Jessica Biel, Justin Long, and Gary Oldman.

Astronaut Chuck Baker lands on what he thinks is an uninhabited alien planet, only to discover that he has accidentally invaded an alien civilization. Baker must avoid capture and get back to his ship before it goes into orbit without him.
