Text: A Ranchers Treasure Find - T.J. McMillan, Milburn, Nebraska rancher, while digging post holes near an old corral, unearthed the heart-shaped branding iron shown above, hanging on the old log cabin wall. The corral had been used many years before on the Rankin Ranch for branding horses. The old iron proved to be the Heart Brand of the famous Olive Brothers, who had ranched in that area in 1877. The iron had been buried for 80 years. The author offered McMillan $100.00 for his relic but hte rancher would not sell. Photo by author. (sentence underlined) | ||||
