Text: Death Valley Treasures - The real treasures to be found in Death Valley today by a thirsty tourist or TH'er is a drink of cool water at the hospitable Furnace Creek Ranch. The "treasures" that Death Valley Scotty found somewhere in the vicinity have never been located again. Most folks believe that Scotty's eastern friend supplied the money that built the fabulous desert (word crossed out, with arc under and above) retreat of the old desert rat. The author is shown before the ranch buildings as he crossed the valley last summer. Photo by author. (sentence underlined) | ||||
