Create a library account to check out magazines:
1. Go to: http://zinio.lmlibrary.org. Browse the collection and click on a magazine to check out.
2. Click on Create New Account in the upper right hand corner to create a new account.
3. It will ask for your library card number. Liberal Memorial Library patrons will need to enter the code “lici” + their library card number. The number will look something like this: lici123456. Click Next.
4. After your library card is verified, it ask for your name, your email address, and to create a password. The email address and password will be what you use to login. The password has to be at least 7 characters including letters and numbers.
5. Once your account is created, click on Check Out and then click either Keep Browsing or Start Reading. The Start Reading button will open the online browser for PC/MAC users. Your magazine is now checked out and available to read.
Install the Zinio for Libraries App
Visit your device’s app store to download and install the free Zinio for Libraries app.
When you log in to the app for the first time, it will ask you for your Country, State, and Library. Choose “Southwest Kansas Library System” for the Library.
Note: Use the Zinio app only to read your magazines. Browse and check out new issues of library magazines using a Web browser.
Read Your Magazines
Follow these steps to read your magazines using your device’s browser or the Zinio Reader app.
Using the browser on your computer or smart device
- After checking out a magazine, click the cover image to open it for reading.
- Some magazines require the Zinio Reader app. If your device is not app-compatible, those titles will not be available on your device.
Mobile devices with small screens may cause slow loading or prevent loading of content altogether.
Using the Zinio app on your computer or smart device
After checking out a magazine using a Web browser, open the Zinio for Libraries app, sign in to your Zinio account, if you haven’t already, find your magazine and start reading.
Checking Out Additional Library Collection Magazines
Return to the library Zinio Collection page http://zinio.lmlibrary.org using your Web browser to check out additional magazines. Note: You cannot check out magazines with the Zinio app.
