Game Day

Thursday, June 30th starting at 4 pm, join us for free play and tournaments. Come and go as you please. This event is open to all ages, bring a friend or family member to try out a new game!

Teen Otaku Club July

Do you love anime and manga and are in middle or high school? Then come to our Teen Otaku Club meeting. On Friday, July 8th at 3 pm we will learn to draw anime characters and play some games with prizes! On Wednesday, July 20th at 5 pm we will watch & discuss the anime “A Lull in the Sea”! Sign up in advance to save your spot. Join us at the meeting for your chance at an anime door prize and fun anime/manga discussion!

Library Closed for the 4th of July

The Library will be closed for Independence Day on Monday, July 4th.

Container Gardening Craft

On Thursday, June 30th at 2 pm, learn about container gardening while having fun planting seeds and decorating a flowerpot to take home! Presented by the Wild West District of K-State Research and Extension. Supplies are limited, register to save your spot.Adults and teens only.

Teen & Adult Craft: Sea Glass Windchimes

On Tuesday, July 5th at 2 pm, teens & adults are welcome to this craft where we will be making sea glass windchimes. Sea glass is a really pretty muted color. String them together and hang them up to make a unique windchime for your home! Supplies will be limited. Call 620-626-0180 or sign up online.

Interactive Movie: Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl

On Friday, July 1st at 3 pm, enjoy an interactive showing of the first swash-buckling tale of Captain Jack Sparrow, Will Turner, and Elizabeth Swann. Interactive showings are a fun way of watching a movie where everyone gets a bag of surprises and instructions, and you shout and snack along with the movie. Teens and Adults only! Part of our Oceans of Possibilities Summer Reading Program. 

Library Closed for Juneteenth

The library will be closed on Monday, June 20th in observance of the new federal holiday, Juneteenth National Independence Day.

Movie Time: Luca

On Thursday, July 7th at 4:30 pm, come to the library and enjoy a movie and free popcorn! This will be part of our Oceans of Possibilities Summer Reading Program. This Disney Pixar film is set in a beautiful seaside town on the Italian Riviera. It is a coming-of-age story about a young boy experiencing an unforgettable summer filled with gelato, pasta and endless scooter rides. But all the fun is threatened by a deeply-held secret: he is a sea monster from another world just below the water’s surface.

Teen Water Fun

On Friday, June 24th from 3 pm to 6 pm, we’ll have several water based games for teens on the library’s front lawn. Sign up is required and please wear clothes you don’t mind getting wet!

Teen & Adult Craft: Bubble Art

On Tuesday, June 21st at 2 pm, teens & adults are welcome to this craft where we will be making bubble art. Use oil pastels on black paper to make your bubble creation really pop! Supplies will be limited. Call 620-626-0180 or sign up online.

Origami Afternoon

Movie Time: Dolphin Tale

On Thursday, June 23rd at 4:30 pm, come to the library and enjoy a movie and free popcorn! This will be part of our Oceans of Possibilities Summer Reading Program. Based on a true story, this live action family movie stars Harry Connick Jr., Ashley Judd, and Morgan Freeman. While swimming free in the ocean, a young dolphin gets caught in a trap and severely damages her tail. Though she is rescued, her tail cannot be saved, and the prognosis is dire. What the dolphin needs is a miracle. She gets that miracle in the form of a marine biologist

Teen Volunteer Work Day

Are you looking for volunteer opportunities and are in middle or high school? Join us the first and third Monday of the month at 4:30 pm for different creative tasks that will help you achieve your volunteer hours. You may come and go as you please but teens will only receive volunteer hours for participation and during the time that they are present during the work day.

Teen & Adult Craft: Tile Coasters

On Tuesday, June 7th at 2 pm, teens & adults are welcome to this craft where we will be making tile coasters. Use sharpies to color on your tile and alcohol drops to blur the edges to make a cool effect that is unique to your tile! Supplies will be limited. Call 620-626-0180 or sign up online.
