Teen Otaku Club Holiday Party

On Wednesday, December 21st at 5 pm we will celebrate our love of Otaku by having a holiday party! Join us in games, a craft, snacks, and a gift exchange! Sign up is required to attend this month due to the planned activities. 

Teen & Adult DIY Holiday Gifts

Don’t know what to get your friends or family this holiday season? Join us on Monday, December 19th from 1 to 3 pm to make something with your own hands that they are sure to enjoy! We will have several different craft gift options to choose from, you are welcome to make one or make them all.  This event is free but supplies will be limited.

Holiday Open House

On December 8th from 6 to 8 pm, we are having a holiday celebration at the library. There will be cookies, musical performances, and a special visit from Santa. Bring the kids to listen to Santa tell stories and take their pictures with Santa.                                   

Library Closed due to bad weather

The library will be closed on Monday, November 14th due to the weather.

Library Closed for Thanksgiving

We will be closed for the Thanksgiving holiday Wednesday, 23rd – close early at 1 pm Thursday, 24th – closed Friday, 25th – closed We will reopen on Saturday at 9 am.

All Ages Mickey Mouse Art

It’s Mickey Mouse’s birthday! On Nov. 18th at 4:30 pm, we will be celebrating by creating art in the shape of Mickey Mouse. All ages are welcome.

Jerry Barlow, Celtic Guitarist and Storyteller

When: Tuesday, November 8th at 6:30 pmWhere: At the Library The library invites you to a free concert by Jerry Barlow. Enjoy Celtic guitar, history and humor as heard on NPR and PBS. His music consists of a synthesis of traditional music from the British Isles and his own original Celtic-inspired compositions. Barlow brings the songs alive by sharing the history, legend and humor behind the music. Sponsored by Liberal Memorial Library and free to the community.

Teen Otaku Club November

Do you love anime and manga and are in middle or high school? Then come to our Teen Otaku Club meeting. On Friday, November 11th at 4:30 pm we will have a cosplay/costume contest and play some games with prizes! On Wednesday, November 16th at 5 pm we will watch & discuss the anime The Promised Neverland! Sign up in advance to get a free sticker at the meeting! Join us for your chance at an anime door prize and fun anime/manga discussion.

Halloween Party

Kiwanis will end their Pet & Spook Parade at the library. Everyone’s invited to the library afterwards for our Halloween Party. On Monday Oct. 31st at 4:30 pm, there will be games with plenty of candy and goodies! All ages are welcome.

Fall Book Sale

Support the library and pick up some good deals at our book sale Tuesday, Nov. 8th – Saturday, Nov. 12th during regular library hours. Tues-Thurs – paperbacks will be $0.50 each and all other items will be $1 each. Fri-Sat – $1 for every bag full of books and $2 for every box full of books. Funds from the Book Sale go to the Friends of the Library to help support library programs including Baby’s Bookshelf, Budding Bookworms, Summer Reading Program, etc. On Monday evening, November 7th from 6 pm – 7:30 pm, there will be an exclusive first pick

Game Day

Thursday, October 20th starting at 5 pm, join us to play video games, board games and card games. This event is open to all ages, bring a friend or family member to try out a new game! We will also have occasional tournaments on Mariokart, Super Smash Bros., Just Dance and Tekken for those interested.

Teen & Adult Haunted House Contest

Sign up to pick up a “house” to decorate at home and bring back to enter into our haunted house contest which will run between Oct. 3rd – 17th . Voting will be open from Oct. 18th – 22nd. Winners will be announced Oct. 26th. Supplies are limited, sign up to save your spot! Register in person or by phone 620-626-0180. Sign up begins September 30. Haunted House rules Must include house provided by the library.No profanity/nudity or drug references.

Teen DIY Spellbook

On Oct. 13th at 5 pm, middle schoolers & high schoolers are invited to join in on this spooky craft. All supplies will be provided, sign up is recommended.

Escape the Rainbow Room

Can you escape the upside down? Solve clues and puzzles to open locks and escape the room. The room is timed for 30 minute sessions. This FREE experience is open to ages 10 and older for groups of 2 – 5 people. Sign up is required, please call the library (620-626-0180) to reserve your spot!
