Teen Otaku Club November 2021

Do you love anime and manga and are in middle or high school? Then come to our Teen Otaku Club meeting. This month we will watch & discuss the anime BOFURI: I Don’t Want to Get Hurt, so I’ll Max Out My Defense. We will meet on Wednesday, November 17th at 5 pm. Sign up in advance to save your spot and get a free snack. Join us at the meeting for your chance at an anime door prize and to enjoy a craft!

Family Halloween Party and Costume Contest

Friday, October 29th at 4:30 pm, everyone’s invited to our Halloween party and costume contest. There will be games, goodies and awesome prizes for the winners of the costume contest. The results of our pumpkin decorating contest will also be announced during the party. Kiwanis will end their Pet & Spook Parade at the library. Walk in the parade and stop to join us in fun activities and a costume contest!

Interactive Movie: Hocus Pocus

On Tuesday, October 26th at 6 pm, enjoy an interactive showing of the movie Hocus Pocus. Interactive showings are a fun way of watching a movie where everyone gets a script and a bag of props and you follow along to shout and snack along with the movie. 

Nacho Day Party

Teens, did you know that October 21st is International Day of the Nacho? On Monday 18th at 4:30 pm, celebrate the birth of delicious nachos by grabbing a plateful and watching the film Nacho Libre with us!

Movie Night – The Haunted Mansion

Tuesday, Oct. 19th at 6 pm, come to the library and enjoy a movie and free popcorn! Feel free to bring your own drink, and a blanket/pillow to be comfy! This Disney movie stars Eddie Murphy as a realtor who, along with his family, becomes trapped in a old Mansion by ghosts!

Pumpkin Decorating Day

Sign up for our in-house Pumpkin Decorating Day on Thursday, Oct. 14th at 4 pm. Pumpkins will be provided. Or bring your own pre-decorated pumpkin and enter it into our Pumpkin Decorating contest. Sign up online or at the front desk.

Family Grab & Go Craft: Pumpkin Decorating

Starting October 8th, pick up a pumpkin to decorate at home and bring back to enter into our contest which starts on the 14th. The final day for submission will be on the 23rd. Supplies are limited. Limit 2 per family. Or you can sign up for our in-house Pumpkin Decorating Day on Thursday, Oct. 14th at 4 pm. Pumpkins will be provided on the day. Enter your finished pumpkin into our contest. Sign up online or at the front desk.

Teen Grab & Go Kit: Halloween String Art

Teens, learn how to make fun Halloween string art with this grab and go kit! Kits will be available at the library circulation desk for the rest of the month or until supplies run out. Supplies are limited so hurry in to get yours!

Book Page Pumpkin Craft

Teens and adults, on Thursday, October 7th at 4 pm, come to the library and turn a book into a pumpkin! Sign up for this fun craft online, in person, or by phone.

Library Closed Columbus Day

The Library will be closed for Columbus Day, Monday, October 11th. We will reopen on Tuesday for our regular hours.

Banned Books Week 2021

September 26th – October 2nd will be Banned Books Week. Come in and check out our displays and the events that we will have throughout the week. Enter into our Banned Books drawing by either getting your picture taken or take our quiz.

Break In Bags

For those of you that miss the escape room experience, starting September 21st we’ve switched things up and created Break-In Bags. Test your problem solving skills and be rewarded with treasure! Sign up for the program and pick up your bag at the Liberal Memorial Library. One per family please and only available while supplies last. 

Library spirit week 2021

Celebrate with us by participating in Spirit Week! From Sept. 7th through 10th, everyone who comes in dressed up and takes a picture will be entered in a drawing for prizes. You’ll be entered into a the drawing once for each time you send us a photo of yourself dressed up for that day’s theme. September 2021 Grab and Go Teen Kit – Straw weaving bookmarks/bracelets
